I began drawing at an early age, and painted with oils for a short time. After retiring in 2002 I decided to try painting with watercolour - this has been my challenge ever since. I am  a self taught artist and have had no formal art education.

I paint only in the realist style, and generally paint exactly what I see. My subjects are varied, but all are scenes and subjects in Nova Scotia. Most of my works are of the Halifax area, but I also paint scenes in the Yarmouth area and the South Shore.

My works are all original, I paint only from scenes that I have seen or photographed. With the exception of commissioned work, I do not use other peoples photos. I do not make copies or prints, but  often will paint a scene more than once, but change the lighting, season or viewing angle.

I am a juried water colour artist of the Nova Scotia Designer Craft Council.

I exhibit and sell my work at gift shops and craft shows in Nova Scotia.
